Elsie D. (DeLuca) Iurlano>br />
Of O'Hara

Elsie D. (DeLuca) Iurlano of O'Hara died on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Vincentian Home in Ross.

She was the beloved wife of the late attorney August Iurlano; loving mother of John and Ann Iurlano, David and Valerie Iurlano, Anita Iurlano and Maria and Lee Kitay; loving grandmother of Jillian Iurlano, Steven, Lara and Shana Kitay; beloved daughter of the late Frank and Antonietta DeLuca; loving sister of the late Fred DeLuca.

She was an elementary school teacher in Sharpsburg, Fox Chapel Area School District and St. Joseph School on Dorseyville Road.

She earned her bachelor of science degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Friends were received at Worrell Funeral Home Inc., corner of Main and Ninth streets, Sharpsburg. Mass of Christian Burial was in St. Joseph Church, O'Hara. Interment was in St. Mary Cemetery, O'Hara.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to St. Joseph Church, 330 Dorseyville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15215 or to Vincentian Home, 111 Perrymont Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.

Edward Kaczanoski
Garfield

Edward "Moe" Kaczanoski, 81, of the Garfield area of Pittsburgh died on April 24, 2009 at his home.

He was born on Jan. 19, 1928 and was the son of the late John and Anna Malinowski Kaczanoski.

Mr. Kaczanoski was a laborer for Kerotest Manufacturing in Pittsburgh until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Shadyside.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred R. Kaczanoski of Garfield; son, Edward (Donna) Kaczanoski of Bethel Park; daughter, Beth (Brian) Wilner of Canton, Ohio; grandchildren, Jayne and Jonathan Kaczanoski; brother, Leon Pawelak of Blawnox; and sister, Frances (Earnest) Lakatos of Sharpsburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Kaczanoski and Joseph Pawelak.

Friends were received at the Thomas M. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Blawnox, where services were held. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions to St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 304 Morewood Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15213.

Joyce C. Stross
Blawnox

Joyce C. Stross, 67, of Blawnox died Monday, April 20, 2009 at UPMC St. Margaret.

She was born on April 28, 1941 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Clyde and Theresa Kopniski Bergman.

Mrs. Stross was a resident of Blawnox for more than 50 years. She worked as a bookkeeper for Giant Eagle and was a member of St. Mary Church in Sharpsburg.

She enjoyed playing Scrabble, cake decorating and loved all holidays.

Mrs. Stross is survived by her husband, Richard A. Stross; her daughters, Christine (Chris) Henige of White Waters, Wisc. and Sharon (Richard) Carr of Indianola; son, Ronald (Tracy) Stross of Slatelick and grandchildren Trent Stross and Aaron Carr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Bergman.

Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Juan Diego Parish at St. Mary Church in Sharpsburg. Arrangements were by the Thomas M. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Blawnox.

Agnes Patterson
Indiana Township

Agnes S. (McKendreg) Patterson, 92, of Indiana Township, died Saturday, April 11, 2009, in Rebecca Residence, West Deer.

She was born June 26, 1916, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late William and Mary Kopcie Stroyne.

She was a homemaker and member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Glenshaw, the Christian Mothers of the church and the Ladies Auxiliary of Middle Road Volunteer Fire Department.

She is survived by daughters, Mary Ellen Guido, of South Carolina, Ann (Ed) Baldzicki, of Avon, Ohio, Sally (Ray) Klimko, of Crafton, and Jane Patterson (Bill Abate), of Hampton; five grandchildren, Lynn Dysart, Rob DeBaldo, Scott DeBaldo, Jay Miranda and Megan Gleason; a great-grandson, Hunter Dysart; and a sister, Irene Soeder, of Ross.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Patterson, in 1986; and four brothers, William Stroyne, Ralph Stroyne, Robert Stroyne and Joseph Stroyne.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 2510 Middle Road, Glenshaw.
