Harry J. Habay
of O'Hara
Harry J. Habay, 82, of O'Hara died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at UPMC Oakland.
He was the loving husband of 57 years to Edna (Mae) Hughes; beloved father of H. James (Christine) Habay, Larry R. (Sherael) Habay and Jeffrey E. (Nubia) Habay, Suzanne (Jim) Madia and Gene Nawojski; grandfather of Jason, Jaime, Tiffany, Bryan, Christy, Thomas, Blake and Logan; brother of Steve, John and Joseph Habay, Helen McElhinny and Nancy Bonnie.
He owned Habay Heating Co. since 1947, was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran having served in India, was a lifetime member of VFW Post 709 and Parkview Volunteer Fire Co. Mr. Habay was an usher at St. Mary Church in Sharpsburg for 57 years and volunteered at the VA Medical Center, O'Hara.
Carmella P. Lyons
O'Hara resident
Carmella P. (Rapino) Lyons, 85, of O'Hara died peacefully at home on April 30, 2008.
She was the loving mother of Amelia Guentner, Joseph Guentner, Gene Guentner and the late Mary Jon Lyons; grandmother of Heather, Joe and Mille; great-grandmother of Zane.
There was no visitation.
A Memorial Mass took place at St. Mary Church, Sharpsburg.
Interment was in St. Mary Cemetery, O'Hara.
Arrangements were by Worrell Funeral Home Inc., Sharpsburg.
Edward A. Fallert
Korean Conflict vet
Edward A. Fallert, formerly of O'Hara, died Thursday, May 1, 2008 at VA Medical Center, O'Hara.
He was the husband of the late Antoinette (Mesiano); beloved brother of Mary Ellen Suess and the late Phillip Fallert.
He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Mr. Fallert was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Friends were received at the Worrell Funeral Home Inc., 820 Main St., Sharpsburg. Mass of Christian Burial was in Madonna of Jerusalem Church.
Interment was in St. Mary Cemetery, O'Hara.
Robert J. Kuhn
World War II vet
Robert J. Kuhn, 88, of O'Hara, died Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Life Care Hospital.
He was born Aug. 3, 1919 in Pittsburgh to the late Robert and Mary (Bristow) Kuhn.
He was a resident of O'Hara Township for about 60 years.
He worked as a foreman at Edwin L. Wigands Co. in Wilkinsburg until his retirement.
Mr. Kuhn served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Sgt. Medic in the 4th Field Hospital.
He attended St. Mary 's Church in Sharpsburg and enjoyed bowling and solving crossword puzzles.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret M. Kuhn, of O'Hara, a son, Robert T. Kuhn, of O'Hara and a brother, John (Shirley) Kuhn of Monroeville.
Friends were received Tuesday at the Thomas M. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, 930 Center Ave. Blawnox.
Audrey J. Vecchio
Sharpsburg resident
Audrey J. Vecchio, of Sharpsburg, died at her home on Monday, May 5, 2008.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (Pugliese) Vecchio; loving sister of Joseph A. Vecchio, Carol Dahler, Frank P. Vecchio and Nancy J. Vecchio; also surviving are nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Friday in St. Joseph Church in O'Hara. Internment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, O'Hara.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church Building Fund, 330 Dorseyville Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15215. Funeral arrangements were by Worrell Funeral Home.
